Due to changes in Croatian law only yachts that are registered with the Croatian flag register are eligible for charter permits as of 30.09.2005. There are principally two options to register your yacht in Croatia:

• use a Croatian leasing bank for financing of your yacht
• establish a company in Croatia.

Both possibilities are easier to put into practice than they may seem at first glance, we will guide you through the respective processes and assist you with formalities and paperwork.

Owner weeks

Yacht owners have private use of their yachts for a total of 4 weeks every year, the booking situation taken into account. Private use over and above 4 weeks can be arranged for in duly accord with head offices.

Covering running costs with charter proceeds

Charges and fees for instalments, mooring, insurance, Croatian taxes and service allowances for maintenance, spring overhaul etc. are deducted from charter proceeds in accordance with the respective financing plan. Financial leasing or establishing a company - the differences in procedure are manifold, we will gladly guide and personally assist you in finding the appropriate approach and financing model to meet your specific needs.

Chartering out

We cooperate closely with a network of established charter agencies all over Europe, thus guaranteeing an operatation of your yacht at optimum capacity. Furthermore, as a yacht owner you receive 15% commission for the procurement of charter clients for your own yacht or any other yacht in our fleet.

Settlement of accounts

Your Croation company or leasing bank will receive periodical charter utilisation statements on or before every 10. day of the month and a cumulative closing statement at the end of each year.

Insurance

All yachts in our fleet are insured for third party risk, fully comprehensively and against charter default. As a yacht owner you have the option to take part in our fleet bundle-insurance and profit from lower premiums.

Term of contract

The charter contract can be terminated annually, though it does make sense to charter out for a period of at least 6 or 7 years from a financial perspective.

Yacht equipment

We will assist you when choosing the equipment for your yacht and provide you with a representative essential equipment list to help you with your decisions. Which types and makes you choose is entirely up to you. Optional, non-standard equipment can also be procured at a good price. High class and comprehensive  yacht equipment is an important asset, nice to have and plays a key role in operating your yacht at optimum capacity. We will draw up an obligation-free quote for the ideal equipment of your yacht.

The choice of charter base

Yachtcharter Pitter offers you 4 charter bases along the Adriatic coast to choose from - Veruda, Biograd, Murter and Split. Due to Croatia´s great popularity as a holiday and sailing destination the bases are easily accessible by car, plane or train.

Service and support after end of contract

If you should decide to give up chartering out your yacht, we are more than happy to stay at your service. We will continue to service, maintain and care for your yacht while you indulge in your private yacht with the knowledge that we are always there for your every need.
