Sailing from Alacati (Çeşme) in Turkey

The Pitter Yachtcharter Partner base in Alacati is in a small inlet of the Aegean Sea on the Çeşme peninsula in the Izmir region. In contrast to the tourist strongholds of Bodrum or Antalya, Alacati is still a real insider tip. Not too long ago, the former fishing village turned into a "place to be".

The steady winds from the north during the summer make it a popular sailing estuary. Alacati is an ideal starting point for sailing trips in the direction of Istanbul, e.g., to Foça and Ayvalık. A sailing trip southward to Teos, Kuşadası and Bodrum comes highly recommended.

Whether you want to explore the sailing waters of Turkey on your own or with a skipper - you will be thrilled. With Pitter Yachtcharter you always have a reliable partner for your sailing trip from Alacati at your side.

Alacati (Çeşme): General Information

If you are looking for a town far away from the hustle and bustle, this is the place for you. Nestled within rolling hills used for olive and wine cultivation is Alacati. The town on the Çeşme peninsula on the Turkish Aegean is a dream destination for sailors and surfers. This is not only due to the fine sandy bays and crystal-clear water. The place is also known for its restored stone houses and the incomparable charm of a historic fishing village. Restaurants, small cafés and boutiques line the small streets.

The historical centre of Alacati has preserved its original character. To ensure that it retains its incomparable charm, the entire district is a listed heritage site. The windmills are a symbol of Alacati and are among the oldest buildings in the city. Today, Alacati offers a mix of Turkish and Greek culture.

Sailing from Alacati (Çeşme), Port Alacati Marina

The Çeşme peninsula reaches far out into the sea. In contrast, the bay extends deep inland. As a result, the water is relatively calm. Perfect sailing conditions prevail due to a constant wind. The place is rightly considered one of the best learning areas in the world.

Sailing enthusiasts enjoy perfect wind conditions and plenty of sun. Especially because of the constant north winds in summer, the bay is an Eldorado for windsurfers and the whole region is a paradise for sailors. When sailing from Alacati, the area north to Ayvalik, including the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios, are especially recommended.

The marina Port Alacati is in the immediate vicinity of world-famous beaches. From here, sailors can start their sailing holiday in a relaxed way compared to the marinas in the more touristic south.
