Preveza, Main Port
Base information
General
Preveza is located at the tip of a peninsula that separates the Ionian Sea from the Ambracian Gulf. The idyllic town with its small alleys and cozy cafes invites you to stay and enjoy. Majestic mansions and buildings in Venetian style as well as magnificent gardens with lush flower decorations characterise the townscape. Preveza is a picturesque starting point for easy island hopping in the Ionian Sea, hardly touched by mass tourism.
Sailing Estuary
From Preveza there are many possibilities for great cruises between the numerous islands and the mainland coast. Besides the beauty of the Strait and the Ambracian Gulf, you can head south to the famous Ionian Islands of Lefkas, Kefalonia and Itaka. The route northwards takes you via the coastal towns of Plataria, Mourtos and Parga to the islands of Paxos, Antipaxos and Corfu. Fantastic bays and beaches with turquoise blue water await you between the many small and large islands.
Infrastructure
The Preveza Marina is not even six months old. Everything is new and in top condition. The marina is located in the middle of the city, the office is directly at the harbour. There are only a few charter yachts in the harbour itself, so when checking in, it is very quiet and not hectic. The marina has all the usual facilities and supplies.
Parking
Guarded and free parking is available at the marina.
Arrival/Airport
The nearest airport Preveza Aktio is only 5 km away. Other airports are Corfu and Athens.
Transfer
If you arrive by plane, we recommend our reliable external taxi service which will take you directly to the marina. If you would like to use this service, please let us know at least one week before charter.
Note
We would like to inform you, that according to Greek law, it is not possible to have charter contracts signed by port authorities before hand. Greek law demands the client’s original signature on the contracts and crew lists, in situ. It is only after, that we can submit the vessel’s papers to the port captain. We ask for your understanding, as it may come to delays while waiting at port authorities.
ATTENTION: The Croatian coastal navigator certificate is only valid in Greece with the note "International Sea".
