Find out more about the Sailing base in Lavrion.
Lavrion is a municipality in Attica, located between the towns of Thorikos and Sounion. In the centre of the town itself you will find many small cafés and cosy tavernas. The area around Lavrion has always been a centre for mining and quarrying. The large harbour basin is a ferry, trading, fishing and yacht harbour all at once.
The port city of Lavrion is a sought-after destination for sailors because of its location. Lavrion borders on the Saronic Gulf, a branch of the Aegean Sea. From here, the Cyclades islands can be reached within a day's cruise. The Olympic Marina in Lavrion, located in the greater Athens area, is the ideal starting point for exploring the nearby islands of Aegina, Poros, Hydra and Spetses with a sailing yacht or catamaran. Further south, the Peloponnese beckons with unique ancient archaeological sites and a multitude of virtually untouched bays and harbours.
The port of Lavrion is busy around the clock. Approaching the marina is easy, as you can orientate yourself by the large shipyard building and the breakwater. Olympic Marina has 680 moorings and 700 dry docks for yachts with a water depth of up to 5.5 metres. In 2000, the marina was certified with the "Blue Flag".
The marina in Lavrion has all the usual facilities. These include:
A petrol station for sailing yachts and catamarans is located at Olympic Marina.
There is a mini market in Lavrion Marina with basic groceries and products for daily needs. There are several supermarkets, bakeries and butchers in the immediate vicinity of the port.
The Pitter Charter partner base Lavrion is only 30 km away from Athens International Airport and can easily be reached. If you would like a shuttle to take you directly to the marina, please let us know one week before the charter.
Free supervised parking for cars is available at Olympic Marina.
We would like to point out that due to the legal situation in Greece, it is not possible to have charter contracts confirmed in advance at the port office. Greek law requires the original signature of the client on the contracts and the crew list on site. Only then can we present your ship's papers to the port captain. Therefore, please understand that there may be delays due to possible waiting times at the port police.
Attention: The Croatian coastal patent is only valid in Greece with the endorsement "International Sea".
