A special time on the water

Sometimes, just a few days on the water are enough to restore your energy. For the siblings of seriously ill children, time spent sailing with Sterntalerhof means exactly that: stepping away from everyday life and into lightness, togetherness, and carefree moments.

The Siblings Week in Croatia, offering hope

Siblings Week gives these children a truly special break: a few days dedicated entirely to them, far away from worries and the demands of daily life.

They are at the heart of the experience, with time to laugh, play, sail, and enjoy carefree moments on the water. Sharing this time with other children facing similar circumstances brings strength and the reassuring feeling that they are not alone.

Sailing that strengthens

Thanks to the dedication of the Sterntalerhof team, Siblings Week 2024 and 2025 have already been successfully held in Croatia, both ashore and at sea.

A glimpse into Siblings Week

We hope to make this special time possible again in 2026.

Support us now

To ensure that Siblings Week can once again take place carefree on 04 July 2026, support is needed. The journey to Croatia for 12 children and the support team, accommodation, meals, excursions, and the shared sailing adventure naturally involve considerable costs.

We are pleased to contribute by providing the yachts and spending money for the children. Please join us in helping to make this valuable time for siblings on the water possible.

The impact of your support

Every additional donation helps make the journey even more carefree for the children. Any funds not required for this trip will benefit other valuable Sterntalerhof projects that support families facing difficult life circumstances.

Our heartfelt thanks

Thank you for your support and for the trust you place in this special project, also on behalf of Mr Harald Jankovits, Executive Board Member of Sterntalerhof.

Sterntalerhof is a place of peace and retreat for children and families facing difficult life circumstances. An interdisciplinary team from therapy, education, psychology, pastoral care, and social work supports these families with great experience and compassion, assisted by specially trained therapy horses.

The work of Sterntalerhof is funded exclusively through private donations.

What is the Sterntalerhof Siblings Sailing Week?

The Siblings Sailing Week is a special retreat for the siblings of children with serious or life limiting illnesses or disabilities. During this sailing week in Croatia, the focus is on togetherness, joy, and carefree experiences.

Why is this project so important for siblings of seriously ill children?

In everyday life, siblings of seriously ill children often take on a great deal of responsibility and put their own needs aside. The sailing week gives them attention, emotional support, and valuable shared experiences with other children in similar situations.

Where does the Siblings Sailing Week take place?

The sailing week takes place in Croatia, one of the Mediterranean’s most popular sailing destinations, known for its stunning coastline, islands, and sheltered bays. The combination of nature, sea, and shared activities creates the ideal setting for relaxation and renewed strength.

Who organises and supports the sailing week?

Siblings Week is organised by Sterntalerhof together with committed partners such as Pitter Yachtcharter. The aim is to give the children a safe, caring, and memorable week on the water.

How does Pitter Yachtcharter support social projects like this?

Pitter Yachtcharter is actively committed to environmental and social responsibility and supports various initiatives related to children, marine conservation, and sustainable tourism. The Siblings Sailing Week is part of this wider social commitment.
